Spiritualized - Electricity
People would ask me if I listened to Spiritualized and I would always answer “Not enough”. This was a stock response I used when asked about a band I never listened to, but thought it should sound as if I had. Another of my bullshit responses is “I have heard of them”.
A recent personal reevaluation of The Spacemen 3 led me to believe that there may be more to the three never-before-heard Spiritualized records I own than shelf filler. There’s this song in any case.
Teenage Jesus and the Jerks - Less of Me
I think the fact that I have never listened to Everything in its entirety is probably the indication of a sound mind. That being said, this is actually a pretty great track, jittery and deliberate but with the vocals and guitar toned down in a way unlike most of TJ&tJ’s other music.
